Before I Read! (Fill out after I read the chapter) 


Symbol Meaning: the logo looks like the ruby hilted dagger from Shadar Logoth.   I think this logo is telling us that Shadar Logoth will be mentioned. 


*Chapter Title Meaning: Watchers  is probably referring to the Dragon appearing somewhere above Toman Head, in Arad Doman, or Saldaea. ?


  • Moiraine is digging into quite a few topics in her research among the mentioned books and might  potentially link things to the dagger in some way perhaps.  


  • Refresher : Shadar Logoth location dagger was found. 


- “‘In brief, the city was destroyed by its own hate, every living thing except for Mordeth, the councilor who began it all, using the tactics of the Darkfriends against the Darkfriends, and he now lies trapped there waiting for a soul to steal. It is not safe to enter, and nothing in the city is safe to touch”’ (276). 


The Forsaken

- “I know as well as you, as well as any sister who cares to find out, that the seals holding the Dark One in Shayol Ghul are weakening” (277). 


*Relook at Shadar Logoth section again 276 and the Forsaken 276-77 




  • The Trolloc Wars, The Watchers Over the Waves, The Legends of the Return,  Two treatises on the Horn of Valere, Three on Dark Prophecy, a book on the Forsaken, Prophecies of the Dragon - in three translations and the original (these books seem super important) 


  • the Trolloc Wars is referring to the Great battle the Trollocs lost in 


  • The Watchers Over the Waves seems to be foreshadowing a tragic event soon to come or something different entirely. 


  • The Legends of the Return : no idea what this is referring to but seems like it might foreshadow something later. 


  • The Two treatises on the Horn of Valere  book is probably about the Hunt for the Horn and how often it happened before Rand had it. Also it could be referring  to what happens when the Horn is blown and what the Horn is fully capable of. 


  • The book on Dark Prophecy is probably referring to what was written in blood on the wall or something related to the ruby hilted dagger perhaps. 


  • the book about the Forsaken probably talks about the seals in Shael Gouel and the origins of the seals perhaps 


  • Prophecies of the Dragon is referring to that the True dragon will surface and cause havoc to the world.


  • Moiraine is looking for information to plan her next move. 


  • What Moiraine and Vandene talk about. 


  • the dragon reborn coming back  connected the horn and must be found before the Last Battle, Shadar Logoth, Forsaken, Lanfear = Daughter of the Night also linked to the dragon to Lews Therin Telamon, Where dragon will be reborn 


  • I believe we haven’t met Lanfear yet and believe she’s just a myth and legend at this point but also think we might meet her in this book at some point if we haven’t already met her without knowing


  • The Draghkar’s kiss reminds me of the dementors kiss from Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban and how it described it in this chapter made me think of the scene where the dementor tried to take Harry’s soul similar to what happened to Moiraine.

  • Watchers :  Rundown 


    -Watchers over the Waves 


    -Makes me think of the ocean


    -What are they looking for in the ocean or are they waiting for a ship or something to come from the waves of the ocean. 


    • More abort a prophecy, perhaps ? 


      - “‘Five ride forth, and four return”. - I’m thinking 5 will leave and all but one will die and not return 


      - “Above the watchers shall he proclaim himself, bannered, across the sky in fire”. - possibly Ba’alzamon is who will show up since he’s always associated with Fire 


      - Dragon Reborn to appear somewhere above Toman Head, in Arad Doman, or Saldaea.  


  • Moraine and Lan’s conversation: 


    - no one has done it for 400 years , Lan learns she’s sending him Myrelle 


    - Moiraine has done it to Lan twice 


    -Found the bonding intesting   


  • Moraine has promised to Myrelle she’ll move him to another that better suits him, reason Myrelle has multiple and knows how to handle Warders 


  • Character rating 


    - Overall : Rand -> Moiraine -> Perrin -> Nynaeve -> Matt 


    - I like Verin from book 2 so far and dislike  Liandrian and Selene but I don’t dislike Selene as much as Liandrain.

  Ch.29  Fill out after I read chapter  Symbol : It looks like some sort of helmet. It might go hand in hand with the chapter. This looks like a Seanchan helmet and could just be showing what helmets these people wear.  On the hardcover edition of TGH I’m starting to think the creature on top of the rocks is a Seanchan and same with the ones on the back cover.  Chapter title : The title of the chapter is Seanchan. The Dragon Reborn - Chapters 9-11

  Ch9 - Wolf Dreams  So Aes Sedai can have the power of Dreaming; so what does that mean?  In Perrin’s dream, Who was the bloody man? Oh no the next dream has  Lanfear in it; oh fucking shit this is really bad (there were white pointed archways that led into a bigger room with furniture carved, gilded and inlaid with ivory). This makes me think of the Place in Tear Rand  is trying to get to. Like a way of foretelling events that will eventually happen perhaps.  Page 115 - “ Run now! You must not be here now. Danger. Great Danger. Worse than all the Neverborn. You must go. Go now! Now! ” - I was thinking what “danger” was Hopper referring to in the dream; something horrible/terrifying will happen in the future to Perrin or someone else perhaps.  WTF would Hopper go for Perrin’s throat? We also think he’s dead, but is he really dead; or is this a vision of something terrible to come? But in reality Hopper was just trying to scare Perrin out of the dream...

The Great Hunt - Chapter 45 : Blademaster

Ch.45  - These questions were brought to you by the Gleeman’s Apprentice Podcast.   Nyneave  Nynaeve channeled at the collars of two damane and they fell to the ground.  Initial plan was: Ambush Sul'dam to get dress+a'dam -> one of the girls take dress other where collar -> go to Damane house New plan: Nynaeve just put a sack on the sul’dam’s head and collar the sul’dam’s neck and use the sacked sul’dam to get into the building with all the damane(where Egwene is being held) and they take the sack of the sul’dam’s head before going in.  Nyneave doesn’t want to collar Elayne.  And Nynaeve takes the sul’dam’s dress and they switched  clothes because the dress fit Nynaeve better and the sul’dam was dressed in a dress they prepared earlier to look like a damane dress.  Nynaeve has power over Seta. Seta promised not to tell anyone and she’s the leashed one.  Now they are headed to the a Lion’s Den ( aka where all the damane are kept)....
