The Dragon Reborn - Chapters 9-11
Ch9 - Wolf Dreams
So Aes Sedai can have the power of Dreaming; so what does that mean?
In Perrin’s dream, Who was the bloody man? Oh no the next dream has Lanfear in it; oh fucking shit this is really bad (there were white pointed archways that led into a bigger room with furniture carved, gilded and inlaid with ivory). This makes me think of the Place in Tear Rand is trying to get to. Like a way of foretelling events that will eventually happen perhaps.
Page 115 - “Run now! You must not be here now. Danger. Great Danger. Worse than all the Neverborn. You must go. Go now! Now!” - I was thinking what “danger” was Hopper referring to in the dream; something horrible/terrifying will happen in the future to Perrin or someone else perhaps.
WTF would Hopper go for Perrin’s throat? We also think he’s dead, but is he really dead; or is this a vision of something terrible to come? But in reality Hopper was just trying to scare Perrin out of the dream and realized Hopper actually died and can’t possibly be alive.
I’m confused was Perrin wearing the bloody clothes of the strange man in the dream the whole time?
I’m really confused why the bloody clothes of the strangely dressed man came out of the dream let alone Perrin wearing them when he woke up.
I’m starting to think the strange man’s bloody clothes had something to do with the blood turning into real blood on Perrin’s clothes; maybe he’s warning Perrin of something to come?
Rand PoV
Page 113-114 - It was awesome to see saidin actually working for once how he wanted it to(“A bar of white light, solid as steel. Liquid fire”)regarding when the dog went straight for Rand and the dog vanished. This certainly seemed like a breakthrough for Rand compared to his other uncontrolled instances with saidin. I’m also starting to think one of the dogs Rand encountered might’ve been Noam.
Ch10 - Secrets
Egwene using one power to avoid them being captured to get Matt to White Tower (125-126), Egwene felt it was not using the power as a weapon (127)
Page 125 through 126 - Egwene felt using the One Power against them Whitecloaks was needed to prevent them from being captured (Egwene had one instance of being captured and she won’t let it happen again) as well as to get Matt to the White Tower in time. But then Verin tells Egwene she broke one of the Oaths ( “An Aes Sedai does not use the Power as a weapon except against Shadowspawn, or in the last extreme to defend her life”) and I see why Egwene used the Power out of personal gain but also as a way to help a friend out so Mat has a better chance of living.
Ch11 - Tar Valon
133 - When Egwene, Verin,Nynaeve,Mat, Hurin and Elayne are near the White Tower makes me think of “The Wizard of Oz” when Dorthy, the time man and the scarecrow get to the Emerald City for the Wizard to cure their problems.
Now I’m curious what the Amyrlin would want to see Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne for.
I’m also with the girls hoping Mat is being healed since they are stuck in their rooms.
