The Great Hunt - Chapter 45 : Blademaster

Ch.45  - These questions were brought to you by the Gleeman’s Apprentice Podcast.

 Nyneave

  • Nynaeve channeled at the collars of two damane and they fell to the ground.

  • Initial plan was: Ambush Sul'dam to get dress+a'dam -> one of the girls take dress other where collar -> go to Damane house

  • New plan: Nynaeve just put a sack on the sul’dam’s head and collar the sul’dam’s neck and use the sacked sul’dam to get into the building with all the damane(where Egwene is being held) and they take the sack of the sul’dam’s head before going in.

  • Nyneave doesn’t want to collar Elayne.

  • And Nynaeve takes the sul’dam’s dress and they switched  clothes because the dress fit Nynaeve better and the sul’dam was dressed in a dress they prepared earlier to look like a damane dress.

  • Nynaeve has power over Seta. Seta promised not to tell anyone and she’s the leashed one.

  • Now they are headed to the a Lion’s Den ( aka where all the damane are kept).

Bayle Doman

  • Yarin is worried that the girls will not show up and Bayle Doman will wait for the girls to show up to go on his boat.

Rand

  • Rand takes the banner with him so Verin doesn’t find it.

  • Ingtar’s plan was to make them look like ordinary people walking on the street.

  • Mat sees a damane.

  • I think Rand seems very confused to see Grolm in Falme.

  • Since Mat can sense the dagger it must be in the same room with Fain meaning the Horn is with it as well.

  • They were clever on how they got into the house.

  • I honestly believe the Boyd first song the Horn and dagger without Fain in the room seems too easy, maybe Fain wants them to think he’s not watching.

  • Omg when Rand see’s Egwene with a collar around her neck made me feel things just like Rand did I imagine.

  • Oh no looks like Lord Turak has spotted them. I’m thinking Turak will turn the boys in but he thinks Fain killed the guard.

  • Omg I never thought I’d see Mat kill a soldier with the dagger.

  • I never thought I’d see Rand kill a High Lord, especially Turak. I imagine there will be consequences for Rand killing Turak.

  • 540, “Instead, they stared silently at the High Lord’s body. They produced daggers from under their robes, and he tightened his grip on the sword, but each man placed the point to his own breast.” “‘From birth to death,”’ they intoned in unison, “‘I serve the Blood.”’ “And plunged the daggers into their own hearts” (540).

  • Rand is valuing having Egwene back over having the Horn. This makes me feel he really has feelings for her.

Afterthoughts

  • I think leaders of the Seanchan  are Darkfriends controlled by Ba’alzamon.

Questions

  • What do you know about being tarverean?

  • A: I know they can sometimes change the Pattern to some degree, they might be able to tell who someone is they have a strong bond with that’s far away and they can pull the strings as needed to slightly alter what’s going to happen if needed.

  • Rand’s pull to being able to make out people from long distances; he probably pulling the strings of the Pattern since he has a strong connection with  Egwene.

  • What does Turak’s death look like?

  • A: I envisioned his death either as an all out bloodbath or as Turak being cut into nice sized chunks of human flesh or as a massacre against Turak (for some reason).
