The Great Hunt - Chapter 32 : Dangerous Words

Image
Ch.32  Symbol : The symbol is Thom’s Harp . I'm thinking the harp is referencing to the instruments being played and the group thinking the Horn wouldn't be used in that manner. Chapter title : The chapter title is Dangerous Words . This makes me think the group will have to think of what Rand should say to Barthanes so he doesn’t know what they’re actually up to and down play what is actually going to happen in the mansion.  Main Points of the Chapter ( aka what I thought was important from the chapter)  Mentioned characters :  Ashin, Andormen, Alaine Chuliandred, Belevaere Osiellin, Breane Taborwin  387-88 , the plan and roles : “His true purpose was to sniff out the Darkfriends and Trollocs if he could; the Horn of Valere should not be far from them. Mat, still grumbling about it, was pretending to be Rand’s serpent, since he could feel the dagger when it was close. If Hurin failed, perhaps he could find the Darkfriends. “When Rand had asked Verin...

The Great Hunt - Chapter 31 : On the Scent

Image
Ch.31  After I read Symbol : The symbol is the sun of Cairhein . The logo could referring to their journey leading to Barthane's manor and to his really odd party.  Chapter title : The chapter title is called On the Scent . The title was referring to the group tracking down the Horn and dagger to Lord Barthanes’ mansion that he just finished building and they’re figuring out how to get into the mansion.  Main Points of the Chapter ( aka what I thought was important from the chapter)  Mentioned characters :  Rand, Verin, Perrin, Loial, Mat, Uno, Ingtar, Cuale, Moiraine, Lord Agelmar, Amyrlin Seat, Mistress Tiedra Mentioned characters: (new mentions) Lord Barthanes, Fain, Logain, Elaida  378, “‘I can follow it now, my Lord. And I can smell them in the street. It won’t last long,  though. There weren’t any Trollocs, and they didn’t kill anybody. Just men, my Lord. Darkfriends, I suppose, but you can’t always be sure of that by smell. A day, maybe,...

The Great Hunt - Chapter 30 : Daes Dae'mar

Image
Ch.30  Symbol : The symbol is the sun of Cairhein . I predict this chapter will take place during the day. After reading I now think the symbol was either foreshadowing the inn fire - the horn being stolen or everyone being reunited again.  Chapter title : The chapter title is Daes Dae’mar . In this chapter I’ll believe we’ll learn more about Daes Dae’mar or “The House of Games” and see how it may impact other people based on a single person's actions or a faction of people similar to Game of Thrones.  I’m really looking forward to seeing how Rand handles the game  and if he decides to be a part of the game that he’s clearly denied being a part of when he first received the letters.  Main Points of the Chapter ( aka what I thought was important from the chapter)  Mentioned characters : The Illuminator’s, Cuale, Captain Caldevwin, Elder Haman, Lord Barthanes and King Galldrian  “The Illuminators are now the talk of Cairhein after what happened w...

The Great Hunt - Chapter 29 : Seanchan

Image
Ch.29  Fill out after I read chapter  Symbol : It looks like some sort of helmet. It might go hand in hand with the chapter. This looks like a Seanchan helmet and could just be showing what helmets these people wear.  On the hardcover edition of TGH I’m starting to think the creature on top of the rocks is a Seanchan and same with the ones on the back cover.  Chapter title : The title of the chapter is Seanchan. This title is referring to the tribe of Seanchan and probably in particular the Captain, that's a woman.  Main Points of the Chapter   Mentioned characters : Geofram Bornhald, Byar, Muadh (Whitecloak questioner), Child Jeral, Child, Earwin, Child Wuan, Arthur Hawkwing Mentioned characters : Yarin, Caban, Turak  351,275 the watchers : “Bornhald pulled off his gauntlets and sat at one of the tables. He knew they called themselves the Seanchan, and Hailene. He had enough of the Old Tongue to know the the latter meant Those Who Come Before,...
